About Major Programs

With a prayer ritual for a good harvest for the year as the prelude, a variety of events including the Jeju Citizens’ Great Unity Tug-of-War, a Folk Music Instruments parade, and a Making a Moon House Competition will be deployed. After a declaration of the opening of the 14th Jeju Jeongwol Daeboreum Deulbul Festival for Peace and Prosperity, Peaceful Well-Being and Happiness as the main themes, the opening performances on Jeju myths, year of the tiger and tiger will heat up the festival venue. Next, the celebratory events for the opening will be presented with the ignition of the sacred fire that will brighten the festival venue for three days.
In the Torchlight March, which happens at sunset, the participants will pray as they walk around the festival venue holding lit torches. When the Moon House is ignited, a fireworks and laser show will create a splendid embroidery on the night sky, and a new lighting system will dye the Saebyeol-Oreum red. The first day of the festival then draws to a close.
